Neighbourhood Profile
Postal
code- V3W7V6
Census

Neighbourhood
Description- - The Newton Area and the surrounding areas make up this
residential suburb in Surrey.
Three Most
Interesting Findings-
Less
Population Growth As Compared To The Most-
The
population in my neighbourhood experienced a growth rate of 2.1% from 2016 to
2021, whereas the Vancouver CMA had a growth rate of 7.3%, resulting in a
difference of 5.2%. That is simply because, in my opinion, everyone in my
neighbourhood is a student and we are all in the process of determining whether
to relocate to another province to obtain citizenship or residence. Vancouver
serves as the central point for all industries. From my perspective, people are
migrating to Vancouver in search of improved employment opportunities and a
higher quality of life. Similarly, I am considering relocating to another
location for better career prospects.
No Use
Of Bicycles As Compared To The Most-
In my
community, there is a complete absence of employed individuals above the age of
15 who use bicycles for transportation, unlike in Vancouver CMA where 18,225
out of 978,560 working individuals, or around 1.8% of the labour force, use
bicycles for commuting.
In my
perspective, residents of Vancouver, particularly those residing in or near
Downtown, tend to Favour the usage of bicycles for transportation due to the
restricted availability of parking spaces for cars and the congestion of public
transit during peak business hours.
This Neighbourhood
Possesses Less Median Income As Compared To The Most-
The median
total income among participants in my neighbourhood in 2020 was $34,400,
whereas in the Vancouver CMA, it was $40,800. The sole factor, in my opinion,
could be the restriction on working hours for international students, which
impacts the average total income among the recipients in my neighbourhood.
